Description
An intelligent species of Utahraptor that are spread throughout certain, usually civilized areas of the Lost Land. They have a sleek, gemstone textured body with a prismatic color of blue and pink, almost like a mixture of bubblegum candy (hence the name) with yellow eyes. The have whiter teeth than many of their feral counterparts, and have vocal cords with the ability to speak human languages as well as their own primal language, Stefn-ilk
History
Bubblegum Raptors were their own civilization long ago, having infrastructure rivaling humanoids. They were cooperative to other groups of intelligent life to the extent that they were known masters of trading, admittedly out of necessity given that they lack the posable thumbs and hands to adapt well to more complex crafts. This civilization was formidable at defending themselves, however, and developed fighting techniques and weapons unique to their own.
Bubblegum raptors as an advanced civilization was wiped out, however, due to growing numbers of violent dinosoid forces, which saw Bubblegum raptors as outsiders due to the differing circumstances of their existence. Any villages that were left unscathed by dinosoids were further whittled by Poachers and other mercenaries.
Nowadays, Bubblegum raptors live either in communities willing to accept them or in small towns of their own that are secluded, secure, and hard to travel to.
Behavior
They are unlike many other species of dinosaur in that they are not only not hostile but are sentient and use spoken language to communicate. They tend to cooperate with humanoids especially because they helped give them a place to reside after their major cities were destroyed. They tend to be very savvy merchants, though this is not a priority of their livelihoods, and it’s only used as a means to interact with other civilizations, not their own.
Another trait specific to themselves is their nature as omnivores. This is a recent characteristic, and they must eat non-meat products with servings of meat, or they are likely to suffer nausea and vomiting because of their intolerance.
One trait they do share with dinosaurs is that they live in outdoor dens. They see this as a spiritual experience, embracing the night as they wait for daylight. Only rarely, in emergencies for instance, do they sleep in enclosed spaces such as caves or houses.
Battle Stratagem and Threat Level
These raptors do not attack unless provoked, but don’t take them as pushovers, as they are renown for being defensive warriors. Many will attack with tooth and claw like an average Utahraptor, but are also have magical traits such as teleportation and firing stardust spells in order to defend itself and others.
