Turok Sanctum Annual Site Update #2

Hey everyone!

It’s been about 2 years since Sixty Four’s first update post on this site, and almost a full year since I first became admin of sanctum. The Turok Discord community has become bigger since then, definitely not the same people as those that were there during Turok Forums founding. I think I wanted to make this post to be a bit transparent to everyone on the plans I have in mind for this website. 🙂

Well, let’s go over what we’ve got done since I became admin.

  • I’ve done the things I mentioned on my first admin post (ordering links, ect.)
  • Our sidebar has more useful community links.
  • Many more categories and games for mods.
  • Expanded our interview content through TurokNewsNetwork outlet (1 interview episode released, 1 upcoming, nothing too big, but it’s something i think people can enjoy).
  • Added art galleries for official and community created content.

This site started out as just a place host Turok remaster mods, which we’ve been keeping up with at since we opened. But beyond that, my plan is to expand this site as the “hub” (pun intended :P) of everything Turok related. What I want to do is, instead of Turok pages scattered around the web unconnected, have this site interconnect other sites and communities related to Turok so that if you want to find something easily, all you would have to do is open up Sanctum, so that even people not familiar with the Turok franchise can easily find stuff.

So to that affect, my mission objectives are as follows (hehe):

  • Feature Turok Speedrunning resources on Sanctum
  • Add museum-esque information pages on official artwork and products.
  • Change (once again) mod pages so that the pages are more neater and uniform.
  • Archive and link Turok related videos (official and fanmade).

I do not have a timetable on when I’ll get these things done, just stating they are in the works.

Now, as far as mod reviews are concerned (which have not been done for a long time), I just do not see myself solely qualified to critique mods (and we do not have very many Turok mods to begin with), there doesn’t seem to be any merit to write reviews at this time. If we are able to vote favorably/unfavorably on mods in the future, so be it, but mod reviews themselves are on shelved until further notice.

If anyone has any suggestions on what Sanctum could do, let me know by either posting a comment below this page, or posting a comment on Turok Forums website and/or Community discord.

Much thanks, and Rok on!
